TECH TIPS FOR FIBER CUSTOMERS

1) A new wireless modem/router will be installed at your home during the change.

It is very important to follow these guidelines for your new modem.

a) The red Ethernet cable from the wall to the modem MUST be connected to port 1 of the modem. The remaining ports (2-4) are for customer use IE: computer, internet ready television, wireless router, Playstation, Xbox, etc. If you move the red cable to any of the other ports you will degrade your service and/or it will disconnect you from the internet.

b) NEVER reset your modem/router. You may turn the modem on and off by using the button at the rear of   the modem, but  DO NOT push the reset button!  This will change the device’s configuration and may interrupt  your access to the internet.

2) CCTC Wireless Access: After your home has been changed to the new fiber network you will need to re-new your wireless device’s profile to the new modem. This needs only be done once as the device will automatically connect to the new modem after the new profile is established.
